Sunsets

Sunsets are phenomenal.
If you stare at one you don't notice it's changing every second but if you change your view every couple minutes the change is dramatic and intense. Everything is constantly moving and changing.

We accept a sunset as beautiful yet, routine, but when change like that happens in our life we freak out. Its hard to stand back and look for the bigger picture when our hearts are on the line. We see the change, we feel the pruning and we hate it. We can't look away for a moment because it is literally all around us. Change is coming so fierce and so fast and you have no room to breathe. You feel like there's not a second for you to hide and compose yourself. But staring and being lost in every second of change and every heart breaking moment of difficult circumstances makes it so much more harder to handle. Drowning in the moment will cause you to lose your focus. It's so important in these times to step it up and force yourself to work through it without succumbing to it. Step back and look for the deeper meaning there's a reason for everything. I know you hear that all the time, but seriously there is a reason. Even the most painful, heinous, inexcusable, unexplainable situations in life.

I know what you're thinking because a few months ago I would've not even finished reading something like this! It sounds so easy for someone else to say just get over it. I'm not saying that, I'm challenging you to see life from a different angle. Believe me, I've been through the most insane of circumstances and most, just recently. At the moment I've written this watching the most amazing sunset while standing in a house that epitomizes those awful, painful situations in life. Its crazy to me that one could be encompassed in a whirlwhind of painful memories while just out the window, a beautiful act of God is occuring. Last year I promise you I would've never noticed the sunset!

The outcome of this particular one is still shaky and unknown.
But my God is bigger than any unspeakable circumstance! He can move mountains, raise the dead and save a Princess =)
I can honestly say now (something I never thought I could) this sunset is gonna be miraculous!

When Pigs Fly

Silly. Common. Devastating. Victory.
These are the words that I associate with the phrase "When Pigs Fly"I know what you're thinking "why victory?" It was a revelation I discovered this weekend.
People generally say this when someone presents an idea or thought that sounds ridiculous. For instance, my plan to win the $300 million powerball is appropriately followed with "When Pigs Fly" of course here, its comical.
But how about when a little boy runs in after hours of make believe play time and tells his momma he wants to be an astronaut? This comical group of words because a horrible candle snuffing phrase.
What gives someone the right to become the judge of what will or will not happen in someone else's life based on their close minded beliefs?
Friday afternoon started a 42 hour whirlwind journey to a tiny town in Illinois for a friend's wedding. We traveled through 3 states and spent less than 10 hours outside of the car =) It was insane but totally fun and apparently quite insightful for this Princess!
My friend Rich, the groom, was my teacher in high school. I've seen him in and out of many circumstances. There was a time where he was the spokesman for "When Pigs Fly" I think sometimes we get so consumed with life that we forget what our purpose was and bury our dreams in what seems like irreversible circumstances.
This weekend I watched someone turn "When Pigs Fly" from devastating to victory. Rich found and married a beautiful, absolutely perfect girl! Once the vows were said and the couple was announced as Mr and Mrs they walked down the aisle to friends and family, literally, holding up toy pigs with little wings on them. It was the perfect ending to the most incredibly original wedding I've ever been to! It was like watching one of those movies where you're cheering for the underdog the whole time and at the end it all falls into place! It was fantastic!
Its miraculous what happens when we get out of our own way and let God do what He's been trying to do our whole lives. If things are spinning out of control and you can't stop it, try getting out of the way and let God drive. You may be surprised at what happens! I might even win Powerball! Okay no, but just try it!
